How To Unlock Wii ? Prevent Bricking Your Wii, Do It Safely

If you have been searching for a safe and easy way to unlock your Wii, then you have come to the right place. If you don’t do it right then you are in the danger of bricking your Wii. A bricked Wii is essentially a Nintendo Wii that doesn’t do anything. It has the same functionality as that of a brick, hence the name. There are a few things you should know before trying to unlock Wii, otherwise you may be left with nothing but a white paperweight.

There are many methods available for unlocking Wii. All the software available to unlock Wii are for free, so you can get practically everything you want for free. But, there is a downside to it, if you mess up even slightly then you may brick your Wii. And if there are any software installed on your machineĀ  that are not Nintendo approved then any Nintendo store may refuse to repair your Wii, even if it is in the warranty period.

It is best to not unlock Wii with a mod chip because if something happens after the mod chip is soldered in the system, you cannot give it to Nintendo for repairs as they will simply refuse to repair it, even if you are willing to pay for the repair. So, unless it is a removable mod chip, stay away from mod chips.

That leaves us with only one option, a safe to soft mod Wii. The process is quite complicated and unless you know exactly what you are doing, it is highly recommended that you get a guide to tell you what to do. Again, the software and the files that are required are 100% free, and you don’t need to pay for them.

HBC (home brew channel), which is the main unlocking software, even issues a warning during the installation that tells you that “if you paid for this software you have been scammed.”

So if anyone tells you that you need to pay for any software to unlock Wii, they are scamming you. You can get everything on the internet and try to do it on your own.

But I should warn you that it might be dangerous if you are new to softmodding and don’t have any experience. I myself have bricked one of my Nintendo Wii and was left with no option but to buy a new console.

So the risk is just not worth taking. A guide costs, around 30$, which tells you what to do to unlock Wii safely. A mod chip costs 70$ which voids the warranty and 2-3 weeks to be delivered, and a bricked Wii costs 250$ for a replacement. You do the math!
