I think Rod Stewart is causing Billie Holiday to turn in her grave…Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn or how about Mark Murphy…all great vocal stylists. If you start here you may get the wrong idea that this what these songs are supposed to sound like…NO!!!

Go buy Billie Holiday with Lester Young…

I just purchased this CD today, and was very annoyed to discover that the sequence of the songs on the back of the case and in the liner notes does not match the sequence of the songs on the cd. All of the songs are there, but are just in a completely different order. In response to this, I decided to call Sony BMG of which JRecords is affliated, and expalin the problem. I was told that there was nothing they could do because in small print on the case it is written, “Please see cd label for sequence”. And sure enough, in little print that is written. But that makes no sense whatsoever. There is no reason for the song selections to be in a completely different sequence on the case. I just think that it was a printing error and the company was too cheap to correct the mistake before releasing the CD. I really like Rod Stewart’s other CD’s, but I am quite annoyed over this matter, not only because it is irritating for the listener to have to guess as to what song will play next, but because I expect higher quality from a company like JRecords. In the end, I think that the company should correct the problem as soon as possible and replace the CD’s for all of us who have already purchased it. If you haven’t purchased this CD yet, don’t until the problem is fixed!
